Trinity wins the 6-8 Goal Champions Cup Finals

6-8 Goal Champions Cup Final
March 31st, 2013 – Empire Polo Club

Trinity ruled the 6-8 Goal League at Empire this season taking home three of four titles. They finished their season by defeating Lockton Polo Team 9-7 to take home the Champions Cup silver and $37,500 in prize money.

In the final game Trinity took an early lead and stayed out in front through to the end. Rick Paicius and Tim Rudy put the first points on the board in the first chukker and their teammates Dayelle Fargey and Mariano Gutierrez continued the trend.

Charlie Cendoya posted 6 goals for Lockton Polo Team and was high-scorer of the game. Remy Muller contributed with one goal in the fifth chukker, but it wasn’t enough to catch Trinity. Tim Kelly and Miguel Gutierrez made some strong defensive plays. They started to close the gap in the fifth and sixth chukkers, but Trinity would not give up their lead won the game 9-7 over Lockton.

Lockton won second place and took home $12,500. Charly Cendoya’s horse won Best Playing Pony of the tournament. Mariano Gutierrez won MVP.

Lockton was the runner up: Tim Kelly, Remy Muller, Charly Cendoya and Miguel Gutierrez.
Mariano Gutierrez won MVP.
