Daily EHV-1 Update – February 7, 2012

Well, we have just entered the long, dark tunnel.  It is hard to make out any light at the end, but it has to be there.  The last horse just left isolation and tested negative.  The State Animal Health Department has allowed increased activity in the quarantine zone.  We are making progress people.

It is important to remind everyone that we remain under quarantine until next Monday afternoon – if everything stays the same.  The club mangers are arranging stick and ball fields for tomorrow, weather permitting.  It figures after 6 weeks of gorgeous weather and 2 weeks of quarantine, we might get rain.  But then again it might not rain at all and it certainly won’t be much if it does.

Please pay attention to the fields and schedules set up by the polo offices for stick and ball.  It is going to be regulated by zones and times.  So, you just can’t stick and ball on any field, any time.  Hopefully, practices will resume on Friday and they also will be set up by quarantine zones.  Contact the polo offices for the schedules.  There is still a strict “no in, no out” policy in force until the quarantine is lifted.

We are in the home stretch.
