8-Goal Coachella Cup and 4-Goal Stagecoach Challenge
Two teams competed in the 8-goal Coachella Cup: Cotterel Farms (Jenny Benardoni 0, Gaby Saccullo 1, Francisco Mera 5, and Francisco Benardoni 2), lined-up against Evergreen (Tom Sprung -1, Carlos Galindo 2, Nick Cifuni 3, and Carlitos Galindo 4).
Saturday’s game started out very evenly, with the teams tied at half-time 4 to 4. Evergreen dominated chukkers four and five, pulling ahead by 4 points. Both teams scored 1 goal in the sixth chukker, ending the game with Evergreen on top 9 to 6.
The teams met at the line-up on Sunday in front of a glorious crowd. Carlos Galindo came out running and put the first two points on the board for Evergreen. Cifuni added one more, ending the first chukker 3 to 0. Jenny Benardoni was on fireall day, and she answered back with two back to back goals in chukker two. Cifuni added one for Evergreen, making it 4 to 2. Jenny continued running to goal with two more goals in the third chucker. Carlitos put one through also and the first half ended with Evergreen up by one, 5 to 4. The fourth time period was scoreless. It was an age against beauty battle in the fifth chukker with Carlos and Jenny each scoring twice. In the final chukker both Benardonis scored a goal, putting Jenny’s total at 6 goals. Carlos equaled as he followed Tom Sprung to goal, tapping the ball through the posts and making his fifth and sixth goals of the day. It was a fast-running, hard hitting match that ended with Evergreen winning 9 to 8.

Empire has 1 win, defeating Lockton 8 to 5.

Archangel/Granite Bay has 1 win, beating Sawyer Aviation8 to 6.5.
Arizona Distillery has 2 losses, losing to both Zahedi Chogan, and Sawyer Aviation.
Top teams from each bracket goes to the finals, Sunday January 5th at 2:00pm.
The December 29th 1-Goal final was won by CPC Polo (Lokesh Tantuwaya 0, Joey Gallemore -.5, Chuck Stanislawski 0, and Domingo Questel 1.5). They clobbered Seattle Polo 8.5 to 6.
