4-Goal & 1-Goal Tournaments

The 4-Goal tournament was a two day round-robin between three teams – Deer Creek: Gina Padilla, Jessica Bailey-Manno, Mike Manno, Caroline Anier and Coldwell Banker/Mercari: Madelyn Cobb, Dayelle Fargey, Ashton Wolf,Lee Pettigrew (Dylan Foster substituted on Sunday) and Kelowna: Carole Lessine, Ricardo Garcia, Lolo Payan, Shaun Flanagan.  The scores carried over to Sunday from Saturday’s round-robin, they were as follows – Deer Creek 3 vs. Coldwell Banker/Mercari 3; Deer Creek 4 vs. Kelowna 3; Coldwell Banker/Mercari 6 vs. Kelowna 4.  Deer Creek and Coldwell/Mercari had the advantage but really it was still anyones tournament to win.

Sunday’s round-robin began with Deer Creek vs. Coldwell/Mercari, the previous day had resulted in a 3-3 tie and Coldwell/Mercari came out on fire this Sunday with Madelyn Cobb and Dayelle Fargey leading the way with two goals apiece to lead Coldwell/Banker to a 8-4 win.  Deer Creek then took on the Kelowna team, which they were leading from Saturday with a score of 4-3.  Each squad scored three goals on this day, Jessica Bailey-Manno and Lolo Payan leading their respective teams with 2 goals each, and Deer Creek took the win with a 7-6 win.  Then Coldwell/Mercari returned to the field to take on Kelowna and despite their time on the sideline, they had stayed hot.  Dayelle led the way for Coldwell/Mercari with 3 goals and Coldwell Banker/Mercari took the victory 12-5 over Kelowna and won the Jackalope Cup.

1-Goal

The 1-Goal tournament final was a round-robin with three teams having won their matches the previous day.  Kingscliffe: Eileen Duffy; Kate Ewart; Santos Arreola; Eric Hammon.  Rancho Esperanza: Hayward Pardue, Joey Gallamore; Cameron Smith; Lolo Payan. Barbados: Shane Flock; Doug Schneider; Jared Sheldon; Nick Wilhelm.  Barbados continued their run of success and won another championship by eking out a victory over the other two squads, their third 1-Goal tournament win in a row.
